My 7-month kitten's baby tooth won't fall out. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 7 months and 20 days old | 6 lbs

My kitten is roughly 7 months old and has lost all but one of her baby teeth. One of her baby "fangs" is still there and there isn't a new tooth coming through. Does she need to see a vet about this?

Yes, I would have Dolly seen by a vet for this retained baby tooth. It will likely need to be extracted under anesthesia so that the adult canine tooth can grow in correctly. I'd made an appointment for her with the vet this week. Good luck, I hope this helps!
