Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 5 years and 5 months old | 4 lbs
My chihuahua has a sore patch on her neck where there is little hair, it is red &was quite raw but I couldn't tell because she was scratching so much. I treated with antifungal powder & baterial cream, it hardened to a scab with a little weeping/rawness on one edge but I have just found a number of little pimples next to it.. The scab does not look round but I am now worried it could be ringworm.. She loves "helping" in the garden.. No sign of fleas

Even though a picture would help to understand better the underlying cause, this presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching (if any).
