Why is my dog heaving and throwing up frothy white foam at night?

My dog keeps heaving in the middle of the night (or around 6-7am) and will throw up frothy white. This has been going on for almost two weeks. It’s not every night but it’s definitely frequent. His diet hasn’t changed. His schedule hasn’t changed. There hasn’t been additional stress. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 70 lbs

It sounds more like your dog is experiencing severe and productive cough. as this happens only during the night i would recommend getting it checked by your vet, it could be a heart problem, an infection or a lung disease.
