Why is my 8 lb male cat eating little? Is he underweight for his age?

My 21 months aged male cat ‘tiger’ is only 8 lbs in weight .He eats very little amount of food at a time. Is he underweight ? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 8 months old
