My dog ate thawed pork chops from the counter. Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Great Pyrenees | Female | spayed | 1 year old | 80 lbs

Hello, My dog is 80ib and just climbed on counter and ate two small thawed out pork chops. Wondering if we should be conserned. Attaching photo of similar sized pork chops and dog.

Good Evening...thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Well, it looks like Amara just ate part of your dinner...bad doggie! Amara should be just fine. :-) From the picture, it does not look as though the pork chops contain bones. She may experience GI upset as a result, and this could include vomiting once or a loose stool for a day or two. As long as Amara is not vomiting persistently (more than 2-3 times in a 24 hour period), her appetite continues to be good, and she does not develop bloody diarrhea or diarrhea that persists more than a couple days you should be in the clear...
