My dog sheds a lot. Can fish oil or omega-3s help, and is it safe?

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Cattle Dog | Male | neutered | 5 years and 2 months old | 60 lbs

My 60 pound Australian cattle dog sheds a lot. I’ve done some research and found that omega 3’s can help. Which would be more beneficial, fish oil capsules, or olive on his food or both together? Can I overdose him on omega 3’s? Do you have better suggestions? He’s otherwise perfect healthy. He gets 1 tsp. Of sea meal (kelp help) on his food daily and glucosamine/chindroitine tablet twice a week.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is possible to cause diarrhea and gastrointestinal upset by giving too much fish oil. I really like the American journey wild Alaskan salmon oil product for this purpose. I think this product can help Buddy a lot with his hair coat. Good luck!
