Puppy leaking clear fluid from anus, is it anal glands or normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Belgian Malinois | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 13 days old | 43 lbs

My 4m/o puppy has clear fluid that leaked from his anus. My other dog releases his anal glands, but this didn’t smell like that at all. Is this normal or something to worry about?

This could be normal for his anal glands discharge. In puppies they don't alway smell as bad as in adult dogs. If the clear liquid continues to leak, I would have your vet take a look at him. I would also keep an eye on his bowel movements to make sure he isn't having any loose stool or diarrhea. I hope this helps!
