My dog ate Aleve. Is it an emergency if my dog ate human pain meds?

My standard poodle ate 220 mg Aleve. She weighs about 50 pounds. What should I do?

Hello. Cora consumed the equivalent of 9.7 mg/kg of naproxin. We begin to see GI signs like vomiting & diarrhea, possibly with blood at 7 mg/kg & kidney damage at 13 mg/kg. Since there are other factors that may impact how badly Cora may react to the medication, including any preexisting conditions, dehydration, etc., I think it would be prudent to take Cora to an emergency clinic for decontamination & any possible treatment. I think she should be fine, but better safe than sorry. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
