My dog Lillie keeps biting and chewing her butt to the point where there are so many scabs and chunks out of her skin. I want to know how to treat/stop it (can’t afford vet) please

There are many reasons Lillie could be chewing including parasites, allergies (both environmental and food), and thyroid issues. At home you can stop the chewing by making her wear an Elizabethan collar at all times. Go ahead and treat her for fleas once a month for at least 2 months. If you want an over the counter product, pick Frontline but there are better products out there like Cheristan or Comfortis. Regarding any wounds, you can cleanse them using hand soap (rinse well) and then apply a little coconut oil- rub it in well and do not allow her to lick it. If she does not get better within a couple weeks or if she gets worse, try to figure out a way to take her in to see the veterinarian. Many clients is Care Credit or Scratch. Check out their websites. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any further questions!
