Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 16 days old | 11 lbs
I got a golden retriever puppy from a breeder last week and she threw up a live roundworm today. She’s 11 weeks old and this is the first worm I’ve noticed. Her paperwork says she was given a worming treatment by the vet on 12/17/19. Is this common?

Because of the life cycle of worms, it takes at least two deworming treatments given two weeks apart to kill all of them. The first kills the adult present, while the second kills the worms that had not yet hatched from eggs at the time of the first treatment. You will need to give Marley another deworming treatment now, and another one in two weeks. After that, she should be given a deworming treatment once a month until she is six months of age. She should then be given a deworming treatment every three months thereafter. I hope this helps.
