Why does my pet have a clear runny nose and sneeze after play?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 6 days old | 1.5 lbs

So we took oreo outside for 10 minutes maybe.. he played there in sun.. after some time I saw he had runny nose (it was clear like water) it was just for a minute it happened before too its was also for just a minute when we were outside. Also he sneezes but may be its because he is always going to dusty places like down the bed and in corners.

Having a runny nose after excessive play is normal. There is no need for concern here. The blood vessels in the nose become engorged, causing some leakage of fluid. Occasional sneezing is also normal for pets. Dust can irritate the nasal passage. I would recommend dusting more and using Heppa filters with your vaccuum to eliminate a lot of the dust and dust mites that are likely in the environment. Best wishes with your pet Oreo and I hope things go well. Take care!
