My dog has a soft bump near his eye. Is it serious if it's painless?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | neutered | 10 years old | 25 lbs

What is this bump near my dog’s eye? It’s soft to the touch and doesn’t appear to bother him. He does have a habit of rubbing his face on the bed or couch when upset.

Hi, it is a little growth. It would be better to have it tested with a fine needle aspirate to understand what kind of growth it is. If it is a benign lump, it could grow and cause irritation as it is very close to the eye. I would therefore recommend to have it checked over. Hope this helps !
