My dog had severe symptoms and died. Could it have been Parvo?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 90 lbs

Dog had low white blood count, fever, vomiting, extreme lethargy and her hind legs wouldnt work. We had to use strap to support her to take her out. The couple times she did support herself, she walked like a newborn calf. Very unsteady and weak. Vet didnt know what was wrong and told us to come back in a week. She never improved and passed away before could make that appt. Could this have been Parvo? Vet only did a blood test and xrays

I'm so sorry Winnie passed suddenly. If she was vaccinated for parvo, then it wouldn't have been parvo that caused her to die. I believe as well that if the vet suspected parvo, they would have done a blood test for it at the first visit. Unfortunately without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain what caused her to pass. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.
