My sick kitten won't eat, breathing hard. Can I help her at home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

My kitten is sick, her face is dirty (dark) all the time. She refused to eat and I've been forcing her to eat but she only swallowed a little, but she still drink water a little bit. I can barely feel her breathing, and she's kinda limp but still can walk. I tried to take her to a local vet but I can't afford it, Is there any way that I can do at home to save her?

Thank you for using PetCoach. Unfortunately there’s not much that you can do at home to help saint. It sounds like she has a very significant infection. In some cases respiratory illness in kittens can be fatal. I recommend contacting your local Humane Society’s to see if there is any financial assistance available for pet owners. This list may help. https://www.gofundme.com/c/blog/help-with-vet-bills Best of luck. I hope Saint recovers soon.
