New mom dog has bloody diarrhea after birth. Is this normal?

My dog gave birth 3 days ago and started having diarrhea now today she had diarrhea with mucus and blood but shes active and eating

The diarrhea could be related to eating the placentas and afterbirth, or could be a sign of another disease like intestinal parasites. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian for a physical exam and to discuss treatment for the diarrhea. While it's possible simple change like a bland diet and probiotic would be recommended it's always best to have a veterinarian take a look to make sure there's nothing more serious going on.

    Yes it may be (the feces should be black though) or it is possible that she is having a gastrointestinal infection/inflammation. If the signs are persistent the second possibility is more likely and a veterinary check up is required. Antibiotics in that case are useful to solve the problem.
