Why did my dog get sudden hives after being outside in the yard?

Last night my 3 yr old dog broke out in hives and I don't know what caused other than I raked the leaves. Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 4 years and 2 months old | 90 lbs

I hate to hear that Dozer broke out in hives. I hope he has recovered. If he has not, I recommend to call his vet who may recommend to see him or may give you a dose of antihistamines to give him. Many times you will never know what caused the hives. Spider bites or ant bites are usually on the list. Spiders do live in the house all year round and can survive outside in surprisingly cool weather. At this point, focus on making sure his hives resolve.
