Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 10 years and 6 months old | 13.23 lbs
My dog has been urinating blood during the past couple of days. He’s 10 years old, happy and playful, no changes in behavior. His eating habits are normal, he asks to be pet, everything a normal dog does, except he would occasionally whine as though he’s in pain. Could it be just a cold or something more severe? Also, I forgot to mention that the blood was bright red at First, but now it’s more pale and brown-ish.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Richie. It is worrisome when an older male dog urinates blood. He could have bladder stones, an infection, bladder cancer or a bleeding disorder. He will need to see his veterinarian. I am happy to hear that he is acting normally, but his symptoms are still potentially serious and need to be investigated. A urine sample will be tested and he may need x-rays of his abdomen. I hope this information helps!
