My cat keeps hissing at other cats. Does he need a single-cat home?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 3 years and 5 months old | 12 lbs

How do I know when a cat belongs in a single-cat only home? Can some cats just never be socialized with other cats? My cat keeps growling/hissing/swatting at the other cat no matter how slow and thorough of an introduction I do. The other cat I am trying to socialize him with was used to an environment of other cats, and didn't even need a formal introduction to the other cats I foster.

I would say that if you are doing a slow introduction and Leon still doesn't get along with a cat, he's a single cat only. Some cats are simply like that, they don't like the company of other cats and prefer to be alone. I'd keep him as a single cat only. Best of luck.
