My dog's nose was swollen and bloody, but now he's okay. Why?

Dog woke up this morning with a swollen nose, about half an hour ago we taken him to the beach for a little salt water swim and the swelling has reduced a bit but he had the slightesh bit of blood or what ever the redness was in his runny nose, it cleared him up though and hes sniffing and running around again now. Pet's info: Dog | Kelpie | Male | 1 year and 7 months old | 40 lbs

If the swelling or discharge return, I would definitely recommend a vet visit. If it was just something that came today and lasted for a short time, it could be an insect bite, a small trauma, or something similarly transient.
