My dog ate dark chocolate trail mix. Should I take him to the vet?

My 15lb bichon at approx 1/3 of a 12oz bag of Energy trail mix. It contains a variety of nuts including dark chocolate soynuts. I’m wanting to know if this is dangerous for my dog. Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Male | neutered | 11 years and 8 months old | 15.5 lbs

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your question about Tucker. Unfortunately dark chocolate is the most toxic type of chocolate as it takes the least amount to cause serious effects. Because this mix contains dark chocolate, I think it's best you take him into a vet immediately for treatment. Best of luck.
