My 4-month-old kitten has seizures. Is it epilepsy or vaccine related?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | European Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 4 months old | 3 lbs

My 4-month-old kitten had 3 seizures in 2 days but that was 1 month ago. She was okay after for 2 weeks and then she had another seizure. Now after almost 2 weeks another. Since it's not happening so often, should I assume she has Epilepsy? She also had her 2. vaccination shot about a month ago but I only noticed the seizures after, possibly she had one before. Could that be connected and what should I do?

If Leia is having that many seizures I would be concerned there is an underlying illness or problem as the cause. Seizures are very concerning, especially if they are happening that frequently. It would be best to seek veterinary care ASAP to have her examined thoroughly and get started on any needed treatment to resolve the issue.
