Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 14 years and 10 months old | 55 lbs
I have a purebred Siberian Husky that is almost 15 years old. She is still in what I'd say good health. When we got home from work today, we noticed something starting to cover her eye from the bottom. It doesn't seem to be bothering her; her eye is not red; no discharge; doesn't seem to be itchy to her. Picture is attached. Do you have any ideas? Thank you, Amanda

I think you are talking about Taya’s right eye correct? That looks like it’s her 3rd eyelid which dogs and cats have but humans don’t. Many times the protruding eye lid can indicate a change in the innervation to the eye, a change in the eye pressure or sometimes a tumor in the area. I would recommend to make an appointment with the veterinarian for an exam. Make sure Kaya does not scratch or rub at the eye lid as this may cause damage and she has an important tear gland within the structure. I hope this helps and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
