My male kitten had one-time blood on his private part. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 15 days old | 5 lbs

my 4.5 month old male cat had what looked like blood on his private part. Do not see any blood in urine nor in his stools. Should we be concerned. It was one time and we have not noticed anything since

If you haven't seen any problems since and there is no blood in his urine, I would not worry. It may be that you were seeing the very tip of his penis was out of he prepuce, (especially since he's not neutered) and it looks bright red. However, keep a close eye n him to ensure that he is urinating and that the urine is normal. thanks for asking Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
