My dog has white discharge, no appetite, and heavy breathing after heat.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | spayed | 11 years and 7 months old | 20.9 lbs

Lucky had her periods from December 6th and it lasted for 2 weeks. After that there's white discharge and she has lost her appetite. We took her to vet and he says it the old age symptoms and he also prescribed a BP tablets for lifetime which has to be given in morning after her breakfast, it's called Envas (2.5mg), including a Vetalexin tablet for the white discharge which is only for 6 days. She is not active, she's lying on bed all the time. She's breathing heavily these days. Help me out.

I am concerned that your dog may have a uterine infection which can be life threatening. White discharge after being in heat is not normal and can point to this. Since she is lethargic and not feeling very well I would take her back to the vet for a recheck.
