What causes my dog's recurring muzzle swelling: mange or allergy?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 1 month old

He had this infection in 2017 and yesterday again I saw this on his muzzle little swelling or inflammation u say so what’s the cause of this as shown in attach photo? Also name of this allergy ? Is this called MANGES? Or what ? It also immediately cures when vet gives him prednisone and Lasix injection or oral tablet but can this also be cure if left untreated without medication?

Thank you for including the pictures of Bruno. Skin diseases can look very similar or identical on physical exam and microscopic exam may be necessary to identify the underlying problem. Mange is a mite infection which is certainly possible. However allergies with a secondary bacterial or fungal infection is more likely if it is a recurring problem. I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon. If this recurs the same time yearly it is likely a seasonal allergy and antihistamines this time of year may prevent the flare up in the future. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon.
