Mastiff puppy looks like it's missing a nostril. Is this a disorder?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 4 years and 9 months old | 100 lbs

My wife and I are looking to adopt a female Mastiff puppy- and probably have one litter. we found a cute one that has mom and dad onsite- can be AKC registered - but when I took a good close look at the pics- it looks like the poor thing doesn’t have a left nostril? I can’t find anything about this type of disorder? Current owner has said nothing..

I would ask the owner about it. It may be the way the pictures are being taken and the pigment on her nose but I see what you are saying. Bring it up to the breeder prior to purchasing the dog. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
