Pet's info: Dog | Silky Terrier | Male | 9 years and 6 months old | 13 lbs
My dog has jaw spasms. We cannot figure out why. He's on a healthy raw diet(dehydrated brand). He is a 9 year old Silky Maltese. It started happening at night as he was winding down for sleep. Now he's doing it during the day. It usually begins when he licks his lips and begins to swallow. He doesn't do it every time he licks his lips though. We went to the vet and she can't figure it out. No dental issues. We did a blood test and still waiting on results. What can be causing this? I have video.

It may be a focal motor seizure. Is he otherwise acting normally? What blood test was done? A consultation may be helpful to be able to trade information back and forth and give you more insight. Here are some articles that include information about focal motor (or "partial") seizures. https://www.vetneurochesapeake.com/uncategorized/10-questions-dog-owners-ask-about-seizures/ http://www.canine-epilepsy.net/basics/basics_index.html Thanks for asking PetCoach!
