Why is my dog's bottom lip red and swollen, and what should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 24 days old | 49 lbs

My dogs bottom lip has gotten really red/pink he hasnt eaten anything new what could this be he is a pitbull husky mix

Poor guy. He may have been bitten by an insect and is having an allergic reaction. If he doesn't seem to be bothered by it, I would just monitor it for now to see if this resolves on its own. If it does seem to bother him or doesn't resolve then its best to take him to your vet for treatment. Antihistamines and allergy medication will likely be prescribed.     Yikes, that lip is really swollen! With swelling in one particular spot (rather than the whole face), an allergic reaction is unlikely. I’d be much more concerned about a possible infection or penetrating wound on the inside of the lip. I recommend having Kaiser seen by the vet, as he may need a course of antibiotics. Hope this helps.
