Why can I feel my pregnant dog's spine and pelvis? Is she too thin?

Is my pregnant dog under weight?? I can feel her spine and her pelvis bone when I rub my hand along her back I don’t feel this when I stroke my other dogs when I stroke my other dogs all I can feel is muscle on their backs I free feed them all so she is getting enough food I can’t feel her ribs only her spine sticks up

Thank you for using PetCoach. If concerned about her weight I would recommend a vet visit. Pregnant dogs are more susceptible to parasites so a fecal check may need to be done. Also a pregnant bitch should be eating a high quality puppy food. If she is on regular dog food she is not getting the appropriate calories or nutrients.
