My dog ate a chocolate fudge thinkthin bar, 29lb French bulldog, 4 years old. What should I do

In order to cause toxicity one of these 2.1 oz bars would have to have more than 2 oz of pure cocoa powder. It is not likely coming close to the chocolate content of these bars. so it is unlikely that your dog will suffer from chocolate toxicity.

I estimate that this would be about 0.4 oz of semi-sweet chocolate that Ash ingested, which works out to 8.3 mg/kg of methylxanthines (the toxic component of chocolate) which would not be a dose that could cause toxicity. You should still watch him for any signs of vomiting or diarrhea which could happen from eating any food with a high fat or sugar content.

From what I can find it looks like each bar is 31 grams, so if we assume that the bar is 100% chocolate (which is likely an overestimate) and that Fifi ate half a bar this would not be a toxic dose of chocolate. If it seems like a bar is more than 31 grams or if there’s any chance she may have eaten more than half I’d recommend contacting an emergency vet or the Pet Poison Helpline: www.petpoisonhelpline.com

My dog ate a chocolate protein bar... should I be concerned
Oh no, that was naughty of Abby to eat the chocolate protein bar! There is likely not a lot of pure chocolate in a protein bar, so she should be fine. It would take at least 19oz of milk chocolate to cause a moderate to severe toxic reaction in a dog her size, and a protein bar will not contain that much chocolate. I hope this helps :-)

Uh-oh, naughty pup! In all likelihood, your pup will be fine. The danger of toxicity depends on how much chocolate and what kind. All chocolate can be toxic to dogs, but it really depends on the amount of cocoa in the chocolate. Cooking and dark chocolate are worst, milk and white chocolate aren’t so bad. Hello! Good news! It does not look like this has enough chocolate to be toxic to a dog of Chewy's size. I worry much more about dark chocolate, which has a much higher concentration of the toxic compound Theobromine. This product only contains a very small amount of milk chocolate. Chewy may experience minor vomiting or diarrhea from eating a new rich food, but should not experience any chocolate toxicity problems. Have a good day! Thanks for using Boop by Petco! :)

Cocoa powder can be quite toxic, and it would take as little as 1/2 of an ounce to cause symptoms of toxicity. I doubt that there is 1/2 ounce of cocoa in a Quest bar, but it can be very difficult to estimate since the exact amounts of ingredients in processed foods are considered proprietary information. My gut feeling is that Emma will be just fine, but you may want to contact Animal Poison Control to be 100% sure - they have access to a lot of proprietary information and might be better a or to estimate. My dog ate A half or possibly one and a half Hershey bars. She is a wheaten terrior and is about 45 pounds. Will she be ok? What should I do?
A Hershey bar weighs 1.55 ounces, so let's say all of the is chocolate (I'm assuming you're talking about a milk chocolate Hershey bar). If she ate one and a half of them, that would be between 2 and 3 ounces of chocolate. According to my chocolate toxicity calculator, she should be OK with this dose. You might see some mild GI upset, such as vomiting and diarrhea. I would withhold food for several hours to see how she does, and take her to the vet if you see any stomach upset. I have seen one or two dogs who were exceptionally sensitive to even small amounts of chocolate, although this is rare. If you want to be completely safe you are within a good window of time to take her to your vet's and have vomiting induced.

Hi and thanks for your question. If the earth bars had a lot of fat and/or chocolate in them, then that may be a concern. Chocolate can be quite toxic to dogs and a high amount of fat can cause stomach upset and pancreatitis. If the bars had raisins in them, that would also be a red flag. Raisins can cause renal failure in dogs. Macadamia nuts are also another toxic food found in health bars. If these contained anything mentioned above, you may want to see you veterinarian as soon as possible. I hope this helped.

My chocolate labradoodle about 40lbs ate 6 fun size butterfingers will he be ok
There is not much chocolate in these bars and the good thing is that it is milk chocolate (much less toxic than dark chocolate). Even if each of the bars was solid milk chocolate, he would not get enough for a toxic dose, so Apollo should be fine. If you happen to see him vomiting, then I would be concerned that he ate more than the reported amount, because this would be the first sign of toxicity. If he starts vomiting, then it's best to take him to the vet. Again, it's very unlikely with this small of amount. I hope that helps and all goes well with Apollo.

My dog just ate a brownie. She's 2 and 65 lbs
In most dogs of this size one brownie ingested will not cause any toxic effects unless it was made with large amounts of dark chocolate or had marijuana inside. It is possible some GI upset can occur, as with any new/unusual food, such as vomiting or diarrhea. Symptoms of concern would include hyperactivity, trembling/tremors/seizures, rapid heart rate,, or seizures. These can be seen with chocolate toxicity (but as I said, not expected at this dose) and if they occur you need to see the veterinarian right away.
