Do all puppies need vaccinations? What's the typical vaccine schedule?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I understand that all puppies (breeds) need a complete series of vaccinations. Can you please confirm this and the correct schedule? Thanks!

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Yes, all puppies need vaccines. The usual schedule is 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks although there are some slight variations to this. Puppies need to be vaccinated for parvoviurs, coronavirus, distemper virus, parainfluenza virus, rabies, and discuss about leptospirosis and lyme disease. This will depend on your area. Best of luck with your puppy!
