Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 85 lbs
I took my dog to his vet & he had an ear infection. He recommended that we switch his food from 4health to Blue Buffalo & add evening primrose drops to every meal until he's switched over completely. I think they said it has less soluble fats so it will decrease fungus growth. His ear infection is gone now, he hasn't been completely switched over yet, it's still being mixed together with his old food. My concern is he's got this red rash going on now on the inside of his back legs.

Hi, and thanks for your question. Even though a picture would help to understand better the underlying cause, This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). Allergies are possible as well (also considering the recent ear problem). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking.
