My arowana's barbel fell off and it's not eating. Will it grow back?

The barbel of my arowana curved and today half of 1 barbel fell off. Should I worry? Will it grow back? Also it's not eating. I have time a lot of food 2 days before coz I was adding a new fish. Help Thanks

Thanks for reaching out about your arowana. Barbels can re-grow. Trauma or infection are likely causes for the condition. As barbels are a component of the sensory system for acquisition of food, a damaged barbel can reduce appetite. If inappetence continues, analgesics or antibiotics could help, and a veterinary visit should be scheduled. Good luck.
