My dog's tail hurts after grooming. Why is she whining and restless?

We recently trimmed our female dog, and now she's acting strange, when she's about to sit down she doesn't want to and kept waking us up all night because she couldn't calm down. Today we tried to lift her tail and she started whining loudly like it hurt a lot, she never whines like that, it was like she was in agony, any ideas on what it could be? Should we bring her to the vet? Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 8 months old | 20 lbs

She could have a tail sprain causing discomfort or skin irritation in that area. An anal gland infection would be another possibility. If she is that painful I would recommend seeing your veterinarian for an exam to determine what’s causing the pain.
