My dog accidentally took extra medicine. Should I call the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My two dogs accidentally receives double doses of their medicine. Dog #1 received 17 ml of a 11 ml dose for fenbendzole. Dog #2 received 2 tablets of Enrofloxacin, 1 tablet prescribed. Will this cause health issues requiring intervention?

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your question. Fenbendazole is a pretty safe medication, and you didn't give dog #1 a double dose. That dog should be fine. As for dog #2, you may see GI upset in the form of vomiting, anorexia, and/or diarrhea. If the vomiting or diarrhea is severe, you will need to take dog #2 into a vet immediately. Best of luck, I hope this helps.
