My puppy has a scab on his head with red skin. Does he need a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 8 days old | 4 lbs

there is a scab on my puppies head & his skin is red around it, i’m not sure where it came from and want to know if i need to take him to the vet for medication or examination.

This looks like a superficial skin infection that may have been caused by a small scratch or abrasion on the skin that just worsened. There is a chance this can even be a fungal infection. I would definitely take Chapo in to your vet to get this treated. The vet may have to shave the hair to get the skin to breathe well, cleanse it with an antiseptic, and then prescribe oral medication to help this resolve. I would also get Chapo on a flea preventative, if not done so already, because this is a common cause of skin lesions. Best wishes with your puppy Chapo moving forward.     Oh no, poor Chapo! He could be suffering from an allergic reaction or he could have a flea allergy. You can try giving him an oatmeal or Epsom salt bath to see if that helps, but more than likely he will need to see the vet for medications to treat it.
