My male Quail Shiro is having a hiccup like scenario... I see him do this when he is standing still but unsure otherwise. Expanding area is chest breast area. Will eat and is currently not drinking water for a bit. Will drink or eat when he feels like it.

Thanks for reaching out about your quail. Gas in the crop can be an indication of an infection or impaction. Other respiratory infections (tracheal, lungs, air sac) can manifest as a respiratory disease and difficulty breathing. As each of these requires a different treatment, a visit to a veterinary for a proper diagnosis is recommended. Good luck.
