Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 14 years and 10 months old | 20 lbs

Hello, My cat has a crust on the external side of left ear, honey colored. It was noticed only recently. The cat is a 14 yo male and goes outside. I'm wondering if there is a chance that it might be contagious such as ringworm. I've also passed the crust under blacklight to see if it give a particular glow but it doesn't.

It could be ringworm, but it could just be from an injury. It could also be discharge from the ear. I'd have Kip seen by a vet for it after Christmas. The vet can diagnose what is causing the crust and how best to treat it. Best of luck and happy holiday!
