Hello. I have a four year old boxer mix and one side of his mouth is swollen. He is acting completely normal other than he will not let me get a closer look into his mouth. The outside of his mouth (his upper lip) is also discolored. He also has a ear infection that is currently being treated. He still chews up all of his toys and does not seem to be in pain. I am not sure if this is from going to hard on his chews and toys or if I need to take him to the vet.

You need to take Opie into the vet for this problem. He could have a dental problem such as a broken tooth or tooth root abscess causing this swelling. Have him seen by a vet as soon as possible. Best of luck and happy holidays.
