Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | neutered | 5 years and 11 months old | 4.2 lbs
We had a scare with our rabbit, he got some kale caught down his throat which we have since removed and he took a while to get his appetite back. He has since eaten a couple of blueberries, some lettuce a little crunchy treat and a sultana, but he's still not drinking and hasn't urinated. Attempts at syringe feeding water don't work, he'll just have the water go in his mouth and doesn't swallow. We are yet to attempt to put the syringe into his mouth further to force him to swallow. Suggestions?

I am so sorry to hear that Mickey isn’t doing well. Rabbits will Become very sick very quickly without food as the bacteria in their GI tract will quickly change. I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Sedation is often necessary to Perform a thorough oral exam in rabbits. Wounds or overgrown teeth could be causing the symptoms you describe. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
