Pet's info: Dog | Great Dane | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 15 days old | 60 lbs
My Great Dane is 6months old and he nipped the inside of his penis we took him to the vet and they told us there wasn't anything they could do because it's inside the penis it will heal itself, it is not healing in fact there is so much blood that we've had to put diapers on him. My question is how do we stop the blood or at least slow it down to give it a chance to heal, there has to be something to help ... right?? Thank you for your time :) Jennifer

One of the best ways to stop bleeding is with ice. I suggest you ice the prepuce/penis for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times a day for the next day or so. I really do think though the he should be re-examined by a vet if there is that much blood. That doesn't sound normal to me. Keep him from licking it if at all possible and if he is having any trouble urinating then get him seen by your vet ASAP. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
