My cat's still not eating/drinking after vet. Is it an emergency?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 1 year and 5 months old | 6 lbs

My 3 yr old cat started vomiting 5 days ago. It lasted 2 days and she wouldn't eat or drink. Took her to vet and they gave her IV and nausea meds. Three more days have passed and still not eating or drinking wont move and eyes wont dialate. Should I wait to see if she gets better or take her back to the vet?

Take Piper back into a vet immediately. It's extremely serious when a cat won't eat, and if they don't eat going on 72 hours, they will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. Please take her into a vet now. Best of luck.
