Is PetArmor 7-Way dewormer safe for my 10-week-old puppy?

Ho! My 10 week old puppy has hook worms so I got petarmor 7 way dewormer for puppies but I didnt catch where it said recommended for 12 weeks and older. Would it hurt him to give it to him anyway?

Yes, please do not give this wormer to your puppy as the ingredients are not safe for puppies under 12 weeks as stated on the label. I suggest you get a different puppy wormer suitable for your puppy or pick some up from your veterinarian.

    Without knowing the ingredient, it is hard to say if it is safe to use at 10 weeks. A dewormer that has pyrantel or fenbendazole or praziquantel is safe to use at 10 weeks. Your vet have some available or pet stores

No, do not do this. It is not safe if it's labeled for puppies over six weeks of age, and even cutting the dosage in half is not safe. I would get Panacur for them. It's safe to give puppies their age, and you may be able to get it at a pet store.

There are non-prescription, over the counter, deworming medication is available. They are all usually safe for puppies as long as given according to label instructions. After giving a dewormer dogs can have diarrhea and you could see worms pass in their feces. Most dewormers would take care of the common GI parasites such as roundworms and hookworms. The dewormers you listed are all safe for puppies her age. You could use any of those dewormers however if the vomiting worms continue or she has diarrhea that does not go away within a day she should likely see her veterinarian as it could require a prescription strength dewormer.

This is correct. That medication has a very wide dosing range and it is very safe. Resistance to this medications is starting to becoming a problem so we have started to use the higher end of the dose range.

Hello, and thank you for your question. It is safe to administer at the frequency written on the bottle, but it is not essential. I typically deworm every 2 weeks, starting from age 2 weeks all the way to 16 weeks. Make sure to weight them each time prior to administering, so that you are giving them the correct dose. Pyrantel would be better to give - I would administer 0.5mls by mouth. You can repeat this up to every 2 weeks until he is 4 months old. Piperazine is really not that effective. If you want to give it you can. The dose would be 1/2 teaspoon.

This is a roundworm. He is old enough to give pyrantel a safe dewormer that is for roundworms and hook worms. That dewormer is inexpensive. You may be able to purchase it at your pet or feed store depending on where you live. Otherwise your veterinarian can deworm him. Proton should be dewormed every two weeks until a stool sample comes back negative. When he is old enough to start heartworm medication that also will prevent another parasite infection. Please keep the children away from his poop and wash their hands and yours after handling Proton. People can get roundworms but it is not common with normal hygiene. Safeguard Equine paste is not suitable for puppies nor is it licensed for dogs. It is an equine wormer and only licensed for equines. I am afraid we are not legally in the position to recommend a dosage to you.

This should not be given to kittens. First off, it's labeled for dogs only, plus it's only safe in puppies at least six weeks of age. Do not give this again to the kittens, and have them checked out by a vet in the morning to make sure they are ok. In terms of deworming, it's safe for them to have Panacur. I hope this helps!
