How to get my cat to eat on schedule when another cat steals food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 2 years and 3 months old

I'm trying to shift my cats to a scheduled feeding instead of free feeding, however, when free feeding, I've noticed that Bananas doesn't eat immediately after I've filled my cats' bowls but my other cat Leo (who is overweight) does. How do I shift her to a scheduled feeding?

Try mixing in a teaspoon of plain baby food, some canned food (if you feed dry) or serve it slightly warmed. These may stimulate her appetite. You may need to feed them separate though to prevent Leo from eating her share if she leaves it.
