What does a dog's full blood test, UA, and T4 panel actually check?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 9 years and 11 months old | 4 lbs

What is all checked on a full blood test with UA & T4? Like which organs or bodily functions? Precious had hers done & everything was good but I’m curious as to what all was exactly tested.

That will depend on the lab offering the test. T4 checks thyroid function, Urinalysis (UA) checks for blood, white blood cells, specific gravity, bilirubin, glucose, protein, ketones, and urobilinogen, the results of all of these can tell whether kidneys, and liver are working properly and whether there may be a problem with your dog's metabolism.
