Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Angora | Female | spayed | 1 year old | 8.9 lbs

My cat is suffering from fever due to some sort of bacterial infection and isn't eating anything, she seems irritable and meowing a lot. Vets have asked to me wait for nearly a week and aren't clarifying anything . So , I just wanted to know what can be done to relieve her fever so that she could eat something and how serious a bacterial infection can be in cats ? Do you have any idea what is she suffering from ? I appreciate yr help and thank you for giving my query a moment of condsideraton.

If Jamie has a fever he should be seen by a vet ASAP and not be told to wait. I would try to find another veterinarian that will see him ASAP especially if he is no longer eating and has signs of a bacterial infection. Not eating or drinking can severely dehydrate a cat as well as lead to liver problems, so seeking veterinary care in person immediately is needed.
