New skin growths on my dog after a tumor removal. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 5 years and 6 months old | 100 lbs

Destiny has two skin growths, and she did have a skin tumor removed 2 years ago. So these new skin growths worry me. The first two pictures are the same growth and the third is a different one, there on her left front leg.

If Destiny has had a skin tumor before, there is a possibility that these new lumps could be the same thing. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. I'd give her vet a call in the morning to make her an appointment. Best of luck.
