My dog injured her paw and is limping. How can I ease her pain?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 5 months old | 48 lbs

My young pup got into a scuffle with my fathers new rescue earlier and somehow her foot was injured. Shes now moving very infrequently, and hopping on 3 legs when she does. Her back right paw is tender on the toes, either the left 2 or the 2nd from the left. Shes very calm but is clearly hurting. After hours vet is expensive. Is there anything I can do to help ease her pain for the night, holistically like CBD? I can go to our vet in 12 hours at 8am. Or try to do the emergency vet?

If you can keep her from walking or running around by putting her into a crate, for example, and can so make her rest, then this will likely alleviate some pain. However if the pain increases or your dog appears to be very painful, you will need to take Saki to an emergency veterinarian for an exam, diagnosis and pain control. We cannot legally recommend medications here, I am afraid.
