Why are my dog's ribs swollen after spay surgery? Is it normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Pinscher | Female | spayed | 1 year and 9 months old | 7 lbs

Hi,my moms female miniature pinscher just got fixed yesterday. Today we noticed her ribs are really swollen. Is this normal or should we get her to the vets? She weighs 8 lbs. Thank you.

This is unusual and possibly concernng. It may just be air that entered the tissue around the ribs, which would eventually subside, but it could also be abnormal swelling. I suggest you take her back to your veterinarian today for a recheck.
