My dog is vomiting, lethargic, and hasn't pooped. Should I go to vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 4 years old | 15 lbs

My dog is named Baby, she has turned 4 years old last month. She usually follows me everywhere and refuses to let me be alone for more than 5 seconds. She is mix breed Boston terrier and cockapoo. She has been vomiting all day She has not pooped today or yesterday. She refuses to move from this spot on the bed unless she desperately has to. She's just kind of lethargic. No fever, dry nose. I am just worried about her this is the first time she's ever been sick. As her name implies she is my baby

Poor girl. Vomiting more than 1-2 times and lethargy are major concerns for an internal illness such as kidney disease, liver disease, pancreatitis or even a viral infection. It is imperative that you take Baby to your local vet for diagnostic testing to determine what her internal illness is so that we know how to best help her. Anything you give her by mouth will likely be vomited back up, so I would not recommend offering her anything but water and getting her to a vet asap. Hopefully this is something we can treat her for and get her feeling better soon. I hope that your furry friend Baby feels better soon! Best wishes and take care.
